CVE-2024-39470 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Fix a possible null pointer dereference in eventfs_find_events() In function eventfs_find_events,there is a potential null pointer that may be caused by calling update_events_attr which will perform some operations on the members of the ei struct when ei is NULL. Hence,When ei->is_freed is set, return NULL directly.
CVE-2024-39276 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix mb_cache_entry's e_refcnt leak in ext4_xattr_block_cache_find() Syzbot reports a warning as follows: ============================================ WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 5075 at fs/mbcache.c:419 mb_cache_destroy+0x224/0x290 Modules linked in: CPU: 0 PID: 5075 Comm: syz-executor199 Not tainted 6.9.0-rc6-gb947cc5bf6d7 RIP: 0010:mb_cache_destroy+0x224/0x290 fs/mbcache.c:419 Call Trace: <TASK> ext4_put_super+0x6d4/0xcd0 fs/ext4/super.c:1375 generic_shutdown_super+0x136/0x2d0 fs/super.c:641 kill_block_super+0x44/0x90 fs/super.c:1675 ext4_kill_sb+0x68/0xa0 fs/ext4/super.c:7327 [...] ============================================ This is because when finding an entry in ext4_xattr_block_cache_find(), if ext4_sb_bread() returns -ENOMEM, the ce's e_refcnt, which has already grown in the __entry_find(), won't be put away, and eventually trigger the above issue in mb_cache_destroy() due to reference count leakage. So call mb_cache_entry_put() on the -ENOMEM error branch as a quick fix.
CVE-2024-38602 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ax25: Fix reference count leak issues of ax25_dev The ax25_addr_ax25dev() and ax25_dev_device_down() exist a reference count leak issue of the object "ax25_dev". Memory leak issue in ax25_addr_ax25dev(): The reference count of the object "ax25_dev" can be increased multiple times in ax25_addr_ax25dev(). This will cause a memory leak. Memory leak issues in ax25_dev_device_down(): The reference count of ax25_dev is set to 1 in ax25_dev_device_up() and then increase the reference count when ax25_dev is added to ax25_dev_list. As a result, the reference count of ax25_dev is 2. But when the device is shutting down. The ax25_dev_device_down() drops the reference count once or twice depending on if we goto unlock_put or not, which will cause memory leak. As for the issue of ax25_addr_ax25dev(), it is impossible for one pointer to be on a list twice. So add a break in ax25_addr_ax25dev(). As for the issue of ax25_dev_device_down(), increase the reference count of ax25_dev once in ax25_dev_device_up() and decrease the reference count of ax25_dev after it is removed from the ax25_dev_list.
CVE-2024-38575 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: pcie: handle randbuf allocation failure The kzalloc() in brcmf_pcie_download_fw_nvram() will return null if the physical memory has run out. As a result, if we use get_random_bytes() to generate random bytes in the randbuf, the null pointer dereference bug will happen. In order to prevent allocation failure, this patch adds a separate function using buffer on kernel stack to generate random bytes in the randbuf, which could prevent the kernel stack from overflow.
CVE-2024-38556 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2025-05-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Add a timeout to acquire the command queue semaphore Prevent forced completion handling on an entry that has not yet been assigned an index, causing an out of bounds access on idx = -22. Instead of waiting indefinitely for the sem, blocking flow now waits for index to be allocated or a sem acquisition timeout before beginning the timer for FW completion. Kernel log example: mlx5_core 0000:06:00.0: wait_func_handle_exec_timeout:1128:(pid 185911): cmd[-22]: CREATE_UCTX(0xa04) No done completion
CVE-2024-38554 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ax25: Fix reference count leak issue of net_device There is a reference count leak issue of the object "net_device" in ax25_dev_device_down(). When the ax25 device is shutting down, the ax25_dev_device_down() drops the reference count of net_device one or zero times depending on if we goto unlock_put or not, which will cause memory leak. In order to solve the above issue, decrease the reference count of net_device after dev->ax25_ptr is set to null.
CVE-2024-38550 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: kirkwood: Fix potential NULL dereference In kirkwood_dma_hw_params() mv_mbus_dram_info() returns NULL if CONFIG_PLAT_ORION macro is not defined. Fix this bug by adding NULL check. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
CVE-2024-38390 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/a6xx: Avoid a nullptr dereference when speedbin setting fails Calling a6xx_destroy() before adreno_gpu_init() leads to a null pointer dereference on: msm_gpu_cleanup() : platform_set_drvdata(gpu->pdev, NULL); as gpu->pdev is only assigned in: a6xx_gpu_init() |_ adreno_gpu_init |_ msm_gpu_init() Instead of relying on handwavy null checks down the cleanup chain, explicitly de-allocate the LLC data and free a6xx_gpu instead. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/588919/
CVE-2024-36954 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat 4 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: fix a possible memleak in tipc_buf_append __skb_linearize() doesn't free the skb when it fails, so move '*buf = NULL' after __skb_linearize(), so that the skb can be freed on the err path.
CVE-2024-36893 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: tcpm: Check for port partner validity before consuming it typec_register_partner() does not guarantee partner registration to always succeed. In the event of failure, port->partner is set to the error value or NULL. Given that port->partner validity is not checked, this results in the following crash: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address xx pc : run_state_machine+0x1bc8/0x1c08 lr : run_state_machine+0x1b90/0x1c08 .. CVE-2024-36881 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/userfaultfd: reset ptes when close() for wr-protected ones Userfaultfd unregister includes a step to remove wr-protect bits from all the relevant pgtable entries, but that only covered an explicit UFFDIO_UNREGISTER ioctl, not a close() on the userfaultfd itself. Cover that too. This fixes a WARN trace. The only user visible side effect is the user can observe leftover wr-protect bits even if the user close()ed on an userfaultfd when releasing the last reference of it. However hopefully that should be harmless, and nothing bad should happen even if so. This change is now more important after the recent page-table-check patch we merged in mm-unstable (446dd9ad37d0 ("mm/page_table_check: support userfault wr-protect entries")), as we'll do sanity check on uffd-wp bits without vma context. So it's better if we can 100% guarantee no uffd-wp bit leftovers, to make sure each report will be valid.
CVE-2024-35806 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soc: fsl: qbman: Always disable interrupts when taking cgr_lock smp_call_function_single disables IRQs when executing the callback. To prevent deadlocks, we must disable IRQs when taking cgr_lock elsewhere. This is already done by qman_update_cgr and qman_delete_cgr; fix the other lockers.
CVE-2024-27064 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: Fix a memory leak in nf_tables_updchain If nft_netdev_register_hooks() fails, the memory associated with nft_stats is not freed, causing a memory leak. This patch fixes it by moving nft_stats_alloc() down after nft_netdev_register_hooks() succeeds.
CVE-2024-27032 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 6.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix to avoid potential panic during recovery During recovery, if FAULT_BLOCK is on, it is possible that f2fs_reserve_new_block() will return -ENOSPC during recovery, then it may trigger panic. Also, if fault injection rate is 1 and only FAULT_BLOCK fault type is on, it may encounter deadloop in loop of block reservation. Let's change as below to fix these issues: - remove bug_on() to avoid panic. - limit the loop count of block reservation to avoid potential deadloop.
CVE-2024-26917 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: Revert "scsi: fcoe: Fix potential deadlock on &fip->ctlr_lock" This reverts commit 1a1975551943f681772720f639ff42fbaa746212. This commit causes interrupts to be lost for FCoE devices, since it changed sping locks from "bh" to "irqsave". Instead, a work queue should be used, and will be addressed in a separate commit.
CVE-2024-26910 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: fix performance regression in swap operation The patch "netfilter: ipset: fix race condition between swap/destroy and kernel side add/del/test", commit 28628fa9 fixes a race condition. But the synchronize_rcu() added to the swap function unnecessarily slows it down: it can safely be moved to destroy and use call_rcu() instead. Eric Dumazet pointed out that simply calling the destroy functions as rcu callback does not work: sets with timeout use garbage collectors which need cancelling at destroy which can wait. Therefore the destroy functions are split into two: cancelling garbage collectors safely at executing the command received by netlink and moving the remaining part only into the rcu callback.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7921e: fix use-after-free in free_irq() From commit a304e1b82808 ("[PATCH] Debug shared irqs"), there is a test to make sure the shared irq handler should be able to handle the unexpected event after deregistration. For this case, let's apply MT76_REMOVED flag to indicate the device was removed and do not run into the resource access anymore. CVE-2024-26888 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: msft: Fix memory leak Fix leaking buffer allocated to send MSFT_OP_LE_MONITOR_ADVERTISEMENT.
CVE-2024-26832 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: zswap: fix missing folio cleanup in writeback race path In zswap_writeback_entry(), after we get a folio from __read_swap_cache_async(), we grab the tree lock again to check that the swap entry was not invalidated and recycled. If it was, we delete the folio we just added to the swap cache and exit. However, __read_swap_cache_async() returns the folio locked when it is newly allocated, which is always true for this path, and the folio is ref'd. Make sure to unlock and put the folio before returning. This was discovered by code inspection, probably because this path handles a race condition that should not happen often, and the bug would not crash the system, it will only strand the folio indefinitely.
CVE-2024-26831 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-05-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/handshake: Fix handshake_req_destroy_test1 Recently, handshake_req_destroy_test1 started failing: Expected handshake_req_destroy_test == req, but handshake_req_destroy_test == 0000000000000000 req == 0000000060f99b40 not ok 11 req_destroy works This is because "sock_release(sock)" was replaced with "fput(filp)" to address a memory leak. Note that sock_release() is synchronous but fput() usually delays the final close and clean-up. The delay is not consequential in the other cases that were changed but handshake_req_destroy_test1 is testing that handshake_req_cancel() followed by closing the file actually does call the ->hp_destroy method. Thus the PTR_EQ test at the end has to be sure that the final close is complete before it checks the pointer. We cannot use a completion here because if ->hp_destroy is never called (ie, there is an API bug) then the test will hang. Reported by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
