CVSS v3.1 |
| YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack.
In the bundled libsyck, when an anchor name is redefined or removed, syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor free the node stored under that name with syck_free_node. That node can still be live on the parser's value stack, so syck_hdlr_add_node reaches it again and frees it a second time. On a normal build the 48-byte node chunk is freed twice and the interpreter aborts. Anchors need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path, and a 7-byte document that redefines an anchor triggers it.
Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor mid-parse crashes the interpreter, a denial of service. |
| The curl logic that works with SASL authentication could end up cleaning up
the GSASL context *twice* without clearing the pointer in between, making it
`free()` the same pointer twice. |
| A vulnerability was determined in Open Asset Import Library Assimp up to 6.0.4. Affected is the function Assimp::Exporter::ExportToBlob of the file code/AssetLib/Ply/PlyLoader.cpp of the component PLY Model Handler. This manipulation causes double free. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mailbox: mailbox-test: don't free the reused channel
The RX channel can be aliased to the TX channel if it has a different
MMIO. This special case needs to be handled when freeing the channels
otherwise a double-free occurs. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nft_tunnel: fix use-after-free on object destroy
nft_tunnel_obj_destroy() calls metadata_dst_free() which directly
kfree()s the metadata_dst, ignoring the dst_entry refcount. Packets
that took a reference via dst_hold() in nft_tunnel_obj_eval() and
are still queued (e.g. in a netem qdisc) are left with a dangling
pointer. When these packets are eventually dequeued, dst_release()
operates on freed memory.
Replace metadata_dst_free() with dst_release() so the metadata_dst
is freed only after all references are dropped. The dst subsystem
already handles metadata_dst cleanup in dst_destroy() when
DST_METADATA is set. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix use-after-free of a deferred file_lock on double SMB2_CANCEL
A deferred byte-range lock (an SMB2_LOCK that blocks) registers an async work on
conn->async_requests via setup_async_work(), with cancel_fn =
smb2_remove_blocked_lock and cancel_argv[0] pointing at the struct file_lock.
When the request is cancelled, the worker frees the file_lock with
locks_free_lock() and takes the cancelled early-exit, which "goto out"s and never
reaches release_async_work() -- the only site that unlinks the work from
conn->async_requests and clears cancel_fn/cancel_argv. The work therefore stays
matchable on async_requests with a live cancel_fn pointing at the freed file_lock,
until connection teardown finally runs release_async_work().
smb2_cancel() fires cancel_fn unconditionally with no state guard, so a second
SMB2_CANCEL for the same AsyncId, arriving in that window, re-runs
smb2_remove_blocked_lock() on the freed file_lock -- a slab use-after-free:
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __locks_delete_block
__locks_delete_block
locks_delete_block
ksmbd_vfs_posix_lock_unblock
smb2_remove_blocked_lock
smb2_cancel <- 2nd SMB2_CANCEL fires cancel_fn
handle_ksmbd_work
Allocated by ...: locks_alloc_lock <- smb2_lock
Freed by ...: locks_free_lock <- smb2_lock (cancelled branch)
... cache file_lock_cache of size 192
Reproduced on mainline with KASAN by an authenticated SMB client.
Skip a work whose state is already KSMBD_WORK_CANCELLED so its cancel callback
cannot be fired a second time. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: avoid double drm_exec_fini() in userq validate
When new_addition is true, amdgpu_userq_vm_validate() calls
drm_exec_fini(&exec) before iterating over the collected HMM ranges and
calling amdgpu_ttm_tt_get_user_pages().
If amdgpu_ttm_tt_get_user_pages() fails in that path, the code jumps to
unlock_all and calls drm_exec_fini(&exec) a second time on the same
exec object. drm_exec_fini() is not idempotent: it frees exec->objects
and may also drop exec->contended and finalize the ww acquire context.
Route that error path directly to the range cleanup once exec has
already been finalized.
Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool
and confirmed by code review.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: fix double free in create_space_info_sub_group() error path
When kobject_init_and_add() fails, the call chain is:
create_space_info_sub_group()
-> btrfs_sysfs_add_space_info_type()
-> kobject_init_and_add()
-> failure
-> kobject_put(&sub_group->kobj)
-> space_info_release()
-> kfree(sub_group)
Then control returns to create_space_info_sub_group(), where:
btrfs_sysfs_add_space_info_type() returns error
-> kfree(sub_group)
Thus, sub_group is freed twice.
Keep parent->sub_group[index] = NULL for the failure path, but after
btrfs_sysfs_add_space_info_type() has called kobject_put(), let the
kobject release callback handle the cleanup. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: meson-spicc: Fix double-put in remove path
meson_spicc_probe() registers the controller with
devm_spi_register_controller(), so teardown already drops the
controller reference via devm cleanup.
Calling spi_controller_put() again in meson_spicc_remove()
causes a double-put. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/rds: reset op_nents when zerocopy page pin fails
When iov_iter_get_pages2() fails in rds_message_zcopy_from_user(),
the pinned pages are released with put_page(), and
rm->data.op_mmp_znotifier is cleared. But we fail to properly
clear rm->data.op_nents.
Later when rds_message_purge() is called from rds_sendmsg() the
cleanup loop iterates over the incorrectly non zero number of
op_nents and frees them again.
Fix this by properly resetting op_nents when it should be in
rds_message_zcopy_from_user(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: fix double free in ice_sf_eth_activate() error path
When auxiliary_device_add() fails, ice_sf_eth_activate() jumps to
aux_dev_uninit and calls auxiliary_device_uninit(&sf_dev->adev).
The device release callback ice_sf_dev_release() frees sf_dev, but
the current error path falls through to sf_dev_free and calls
kfree(sf_dev) again, causing a double free.
Keep kfree(sf_dev) for the auxiliary_device_init() failure path, but
avoid falling through to sf_dev_free after auxiliary_device_uninit(). |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: caif: clear client service pointer on teardown
`caif_connect()` can tear down an existing client after remote shutdown by
calling `caif_disconnect_client()` followed by `caif_free_client()`.
`caif_free_client()` releases the service layer referenced by
`adap_layer->dn`, but leaves that pointer stale.
When the socket is later destroyed, `caif_sock_destructor()` calls
`caif_free_client()` again and dereferences the freed service pointer.
Clear the client/service links before releasing the service object so
repeated teardown becomes harmless. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: always free skb on ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() failure
ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() has three error paths, but only two of them
free the skb. The first error path (ieee80211_tx_prepare() returning
TX_DROP) does not free it, while invoke_tx_handlers() failure and the
fragmentation check both do.
Add kfree_skb() to the first error path so all three are consistent,
and remove the now-redundant frees in callers (ath9k, mt76,
mac80211_hwsim) to avoid double-free.
Document the skb ownership guarantee in the function's kdoc. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/iwcm: Fix workqueue list corruption by removing work_list
The commit e1168f0 ("RDMA/iwcm: Simplify cm_event_handler()")
changed the work submission logic to unconditionally call
queue_work() with the expectation that queue_work() would
have no effect if work was already pending. The problem is
that a free list of struct iwcm_work is used (for which
struct work_struct is embedded), so each call to queue_work()
is basically unique and therefore does indeed queue the work.
This causes a problem in the work handler which walks the work_list
until it's empty to process entries. This means that a single
run of the work handler could process item N+1 and release it
back to the free list while the actual workqueue entry is still
queued. It could then get reused (INIT_WORK...) and lead to
list corruption in the workqueue logic.
Fix this by just removing the work_list. The workqueue already
does this for us.
This fixes the following error that was observed when stress
testing with ucmatose on an Intel E830 in iWARP mode:
[ 151.465780] list_del corruption. next->prev should be ffff9f0915c69c08, but was ffff9f0a1116be08. (next=ffff9f0a15b11c08)

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched_ext: Remove redundant css_put() in scx_cgroup_init()
The iterator css_for_each_descendant_pre() walks the cgroup hierarchy
under cgroup_lock(). It does not increment the reference counts on
yielded css structs.
According to the cgroup documentation, css_put() should only be used
to release a reference obtained via css_get() or css_tryget_online().
Since the iterator does not use either of these to acquire a reference,
calling css_put() in the error path of scx_cgroup_init() causes a
refcount underflow.
Remove the unbalanced css_put() to prevent a potential Use-After-Free
(UAF) vulnerability. |

spi: rockchip-sfc: Fix double-free in remove() callback
The driver uses devm_spi_register_controller() for registration, which
automatically unregisters the controller via devm cleanup when the
device is removed. The manual call to spi_unregister_controller() in
the remove() callback can lead to a double-free.
And to make sure controller is unregistered before DMA buffer is
unmapped, switch to use spi_register_controller() in probe(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net-shapers: don't free reply skb after genlmsg_reply()
genlmsg_reply() hands the reply skb to netlink, and
netlink_unicast() consumes it on all return paths, whether the
skb is queued successfully or freed on an error path.
net_shaper_nl_get_doit() and net_shaper_nl_cap_get_doit()
currently jump to free_msg after genlmsg_reply() fails and call
nlmsg_free(msg), which can hit the same skb twice.
Return the genlmsg_reply() error directly and keep free_msg
only for pre-reply failures. |

PCI: hv: Fix double ida_free in hv_pci_probe error path
If hv_pci_probe() fails after storing the domain number in
hbus->bridge->domain_nr, there is a call to free this domain_nr via
pci_bus_release_emul_domain_nr(), however, during cleanup, the bridge

causing ida_free to be called on same ID twice and triggering following
