CVE-2017-7700 2 Debian, Wireshark 2 Debian Linux, Wireshark 2025-04-20 N/A
In Wireshark 2.2.0 to 2.2.5 and 2.0.0 to 2.0.11, the NetScaler file parser could go into an infinite loop, triggered by a malformed capture file. This was addressed in wiretap/netscaler.c by ensuring a nonzero record size.
CVE-2017-7619 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2025-04-20 N/A
In ImageMagick 7.0.4-9, an infinite loop can occur because of a floating-point rounding error in some of the color algorithms. This affects ModulateHSL, ModulateHCL, ModulateHCLp, ModulateHSB, ModulateHSI, ModulateHSV, ModulateHWB, ModulateLCHab, and ModulateLCHuv.
CVE-2017-11171 1 Gnome 1 Gnome-session 2025-04-20 N/A
Bad reference counting in the context of accept_ice_connection() in gsm-xsmp-server.c in old versions of gnome-session up until version 2.29.92 allows a local attacker to establish ICE connections to gnome-session with invalid authentication data (an invalid magic cookie). Each failed authentication attempt will leak a file descriptor in gnome-session. When the maximum number of file descriptors is exhausted in the gnome-session process, it will enter an infinite loop trying to communicate without success, consuming 100% of the CPU. The graphical session associated with the gnome-session process will stop working correctly, because communication with gnome-session is no longer possible.
CVE-2017-11338 1 Exiv2 1 Exiv2 2025-04-20 N/A
There is an infinite loop in the Exiv2::Image::printIFDStructure function of image.cpp in Exiv2 0.26. A crafted input will lead to a remote denial of service attack.
CVE-2017-12852 1 Numpy 1 Numpy 2025-04-20 N/A
The numpy.pad function in Numpy 1.13.1 and older versions is missing input validation. An empty list or ndarray will stick into an infinite loop, which can allow attackers to cause a DoS attack.
CVE-2017-13728 1 Gnu 1 Ncurses 2025-04-20 N/A
There is an infinite loop in the next_char function in comp_scan.c in ncurses 6.0, related to libtic. A crafted input will lead to a remote denial of service attack.
CVE-2017-13756 2 Debian, Sleuthkit 2 Debian Linux, The Sleuth Kit 2025-04-20 5.5 Medium
In The Sleuth Kit (TSK) 4.4.2, opening a crafted disk image triggers infinite recursion in dos_load_ext_table() in tsk/vs/dos.c in libtskvs.a, as demonstrated by mmls.
CVE-2017-13767 1 Wireshark 1 Wireshark 2025-04-20 N/A
In Wireshark 2.4.0, 2.2.0 to 2.2.8, and 2.0.0 to 2.0.14, the MSDP dissector could go into an infinite loop. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-msdp.c by adding length validation.
CVE-2017-14519 1 Freedesktop 1 Poppler 2025-04-20 N/A
In Poppler 0.59.0, memory corruption occurs in a call to Object::streamGetChar in Object.h after a repeating series of Gfx::display, Gfx::go, Gfx::execOp, Gfx::opShowText, and Gfx::doShowText calls (aka a Gfx.cc infinite loop).
CVE-2017-7618 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-04-20 7.5 High
crypto/ahash.c in the Linux kernel through 4.10.9 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (API operation calling its own callback, and infinite recursion) by triggering EBUSY on a full queue.
CVE-2017-15871 1 Serialize-to-js Project 1 Serialize-to-js 2025-04-20 7.5 High
The deserialize function in serialize-to-js through 1.1.1 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via vectors involving an Immediately Invoked Function Expression "function()" substring, as demonstrated by a "function(){console.log(" call or a simple infinite loop. NOTE: the vendor agrees that denial of service can occur but notes that deserialize is explicitly listed as "harmful" within the README.md file
CVE-2017-15908 2 Canonical, Systemd Project 2 Ubuntu Linux, Systemd 2025-04-20 7.5 High
In systemd 223 through 235, a remote DNS server can respond with a custom crafted DNS NSEC resource record to trigger an infinite loop in the dns_packet_read_type_window() function of the 'systemd-resolved' service and cause a DoS of the affected service.
CVE-2017-6214 2 Linux, Redhat 4 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Mrg and 1 more 2025-04-20 N/A
The tcp_splice_read function in net/ipv4/tcp.c in the Linux kernel before 4.9.11 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and soft lockup) via vectors involving a TCP packet with the URG flag.
CVE-2017-9461 3 Debian, Redhat, Samba 10 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 7 more 2025-04-20 N/A
smbd in Samba before 4.4.10 and 4.5.x before 4.5.6 has a denial of service vulnerability (fd_open_atomic infinite loop with high CPU usage and memory consumption) due to wrongly handling dangling symlinks.
CVE-2017-9375 3 Debian, Qemu, Redhat 4 Debian Linux, Qemu, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2025-04-20 5.5 Medium
QEMU (aka Quick Emulator), when built with USB xHCI controller emulator support, allows local guest OS privileged users to cause a denial of service (infinite recursive call) via vectors involving control transfer descriptors sequencing.
CVE-2017-9358 2 Asterisk, Sangoma 2 Certified Asterisk, Asterisk 2025-04-20 N/A
A memory exhaustion vulnerability exists in Asterisk Open Source 13.x before 13.15.1 and 14.x before 14.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 13.13 before 13.13-cert4, which can be triggered by sending specially crafted SCCP packets causing an infinite loop and leading to memory exhaustion (by message logging in that loop).
CVE-2017-9352 1 Wireshark 1 Wireshark 2025-04-20 N/A
In Wireshark 2.2.0 to 2.2.6 and 2.0.0 to 2.0.12, the Bazaar dissector could go into an infinite loop. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-bzr.c by ensuring that backwards parsing cannot occur.
