CVSS v3.1 |
| Missing validation of "valuesFrom" references in Helm Deployer of SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.15 before 0.15.2, 0.14 before 0.14.6, 0.13 before 0.13.11 and 0.12 before 0.12.15 could be used by owners of one tenant to access fleet credentials of other tenants. |
| A missing clean-up in the legacy Project Role Template Binding (PRTB)
reconciler in Rancher versions 2.13.0 up to 2.13.7 and 2.14.0 up to 2.14.3 allowed users to retain unauthorized Pod Security
Admission (PSA) permissions after an administrator removes those
permissions from a RoleTemplate. |
| A Rancher FleetWorkspace admission path allowed side effects to occur in
the Rancher webhook handler for versions 0.7.0 up to 0.7.10, 0.8.0 up to 0.8.7, 0.9.0 up to 0.9.6 and 0.10.0 up to 0.10.7. An unauthenticated attacker with network access to
the in-cluster rancher-webhook service
could submit a crafted admission payload and cause workspace-related
Kubernetes objects to be created with attacker-chosen identity data. |
| A path traversal vulnerability was found in Fleet's ImageScan subsystem in Rancher Fleet 0.12.0 up to 0.12.16, 0.13.0 up to 0.13.12, 0.14.0 up to 0.14.7 and 0.15.0 up to 0.15.3 could be used to traverse outside of the intended directory, causing a denial of service. |
| A SAML authentication replay vulnerability in Rancher's Assertion
Consumer Service (ACS) handler did not enforce
one-time use of SAML assertion, potentially allowing person in the middle attacks against Rancher, affecting Rancher 2.14.0 before 2.14.3, |
| Incorrect authentication caching in the team member ship expansion of the Rancher Github authentication provider caused it granting principal access to any logged in user, in 2.13 before 2.13.6 and 2.14 before 2.14.2. |
| Improper privilege handling could be used by users with Project Owner role to escalate privileges, in Rancher versions 2.14 before 2.14.2, 2.13 before 2.13.6, and 2.12 before 2.12.10. |
| A command injection vulnerability in the Rancher Manager cluster before 2.14.2 import endpoint /v3/import/{token}_{clusterId}.yaml through unsanitized YAML parameters could allow remote attackers to break out of an image, and execute e.g. malicious containers. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in [Rancher's Extensions](https://ranchermanager.docs.rancher.com/integrations-in-rancher/rancher-extensions) where malicious code can be injected in Rancher through a path traversal in the `compressedEndpoint` field inside a `UIPlugin` deployment. A malicious UI extension could abuse that to: * Overwrite Rancher binaries or configuration to inject code.
* Write to /var/lib/rancher/ to tamper with cluster state.
* If hostPath volumes are mounted, write to the host node filesystem.
* Use this issue to chain with other attack vectors. |
| Fleet's Helm deployer did not fully apply ServiceAccount impersonation in two code paths, allowing a tenant with git push access to a Fleet-monitored repository to read secrets from any namespace on every downstream cluster targeted by their `GitRepo`. |
| A vulnerability has been identified within Rancher that can be exploited
in narrow circumstances through a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack. An
attacker would need to have control of an expired domain or execute a
DNS spoofing/hijacking attack against the domain to exploit this
vulnerability. The targeted domain is the one used as the Rancher URL. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in which Rancher does not automatically clean up a user which has been deleted from the configured authentication provider (AP). This characteristic also applies to disabled or revoked users, Rancher will not reflect these modifications which may leave the user’s tokens still usable. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in which an RKE1 cluster keeps
constantly reconciling when secrets encryption configuration is enabled.
When reconciling, the Kube API secret values are written in plaintext
on the AppliedSpec. Cluster owners, Cluster members, and Project members
(for projects within the cluster), all have RBAC permissions to view
the cluster object from the apiserver. |
| A vulnerability has been identified within Rancher Manager whereby `Impersonate-Extra-*` headers are being sent to an external entity, for example `amazonaws.com`, via the `/meta/proxy` Rancher endpoint. These headers may contain identifiable and/or sensitive information e.g. email addresses. |
| A vulnerability has been identified within Rancher Manager in which it
did not enforce request body size limits on certain public
(unauthenticated) and authenticated API endpoints. This allows a
malicious user to exploit this by sending excessively large payloads,
which are fully loaded into memory during processing, leading to Denial of Service (DoS). |
| A Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor vulnerability in SUSE rancher allowing any users with GET
access to the Rancher Manager Apps Catalog to read any sensitive information that are
contained within the Apps’ values. Additionally, the same information
leaks into auditing logs when the audit level is set to equal or above
2.
This issue affects rancher: from 2.8.0 before 2.8.10, from 2.9.0 before 2.9.4. |
| A Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor vulnerability in SUSE rancher allowed unauthenticated users to list all CLI authentication tokens and delete them before the CLI is able to get the token value. This issue affects rancher: from 2.8.0 before 2.8.13, from 2.9.0 before 2.9.7, from 2.10.0 before 2.10.3. |
| A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in SUSE rancher allows for denial of service. This issue affects rancher: from 2.8.0 before 2.8.13, from 2.9.0 before 2.9.7, from 2.10.0 before 2.10.3. |
| A vulnerability has been identified within Rancher Manager where a missing server-side validation on the `.username` field in Rancher can allow users with update permissions on other User resources to cause denial of access for targeted accounts. |
| A Incorrect Privilege Assignment vulnerability in SUSE rancher allows a Restricted Administrator to change the password of Administrators and take over their accounts.
This issue affects rancher: from 2.8.0 before 2.8.14, from 2.9.0 before 2.9.8, from 2.10.0 before 2.10.4. |
