CVSS v3.1 |
If a malicious SDK container declares an extension point with a crafted `directory` path, and a developer runs `flatpak build-init --writable-sdk --sdk-extension` with that SDK, attacker-chosen files could be written outside the working directory, since the target path is resolved via a function that allows `..` traversal.
The MasterStudy LMS WordPress Plugin WordPress plugin before 3.7.50 does not validate one of its display-style settings before using it to build a template path, allowing users with the Contributor role and above to include and execute arbitrary local PHP files on the server. An equivalent path was corrected in an earlier release and this one was not, so the issue persists in versions the earlier advisory reports as fixed.
Joomla Extension - lomart.fr - Unauthenticated remote code installation in UP plugin extension 5.0.0-5.2.0, 6.0.0-6.0.29
Joomla Extension - lomart.fr - Various path traversal / file access vectors in UP plugin extension 5.0.0-5.2.0, 6.0.0-6.0.29
In Flatpak before 1.18.1, a malicious sandboxed app can replace ~/.var/app/$appid/.ld.so with a symlink, causing regenerate_ld_cache to write files at an arbitrary location. The filenames and content are not attacker controlled, making this hard to exploit.
When OnlyOffice/Document Editing is available, an unauthenticated remote attacker with access to an existing supported public Briefcase document can abuse unsigned save fields to perform path-traversal writes and execute commands as zimbra.
Input Leap (aka input-leap) through 3.0.3, when the non-default --enable-drag-drop option is used on Windows or macOS, mishandles the / versus \ distinction and allows directory traversal, with resultant code execution if a file is written to a startup directory. This occurs via a DDRG message.
InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2, InvoicePlane's Invoices::generate_xml() method appends a database-derived xml_id to the XMLconfigs helper directory and includes the resulting PHP path without validating the identifier. A low-privileged attacker who can influence the e-invoice configuration can use traversal sequences to include an existing PHP file. The standalone advisory establishes local file inclusion; code execution requires a separate file-upload or file-write primitive. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2.
InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2, InvoicePlane exposes Invoices::delete() and Invoices::delete_invoice_tax() as state-changing routes without requiring POST and validating a CSRF token. When an authenticated administrator loads attacker-controlled content that requests an affected route, the application can delete an invoice or invoice tax record. The cross-origin action can remove financial data without the administrator's intent. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2.
Zammad is a web based open source helpdesk/customer support system. In 7.0.2 and 7.1.0, zammad's session management for websocket and long-polling connections is susceptible to a path traversal attack. Session identifiers supplied by the client are insufficiently validated before being used to construct internal file paths. When the file-based session store is active (the default configuration), an authenticated attacker can manipulate the session identifier to reference locations outside the intended storage directory, leading to the deletion of arbitrary files and directories on the server. Exploitation requires only a low-privilege authenticated session and a single crafted request. Instances configured to use the Redis-based session store are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 7.0.3 and 7.1.1.
GLPI is a free asset and IT management software package. From 10.0.0 until 10.0.26 and 11.0.8, any logged-in GLPI user can exploit insufficient path validation in the profile-picture update flow to request deletion of an attacker-selected file hosted by the server. This issue is fixed in versions 11.0.8 and 10.0.26.
In Eclipse BaSyx Java Server SDK versions prior to 2.0.0-milestone-10, inadequate path normalization in the Submodel HTTP API allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to perform a path traversal attack. By supplying a maliciously crafted fileName parameter during a file upload operation, an attacker can bypass intended storage boundaries and write arbitrary files to any location on the host filesystem accessible by the Java process. This can lead to Remote Code Execution (RCE) and complete system compromise.
IBM DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data 5.4.0.0 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to traverse directories on the system due to improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory.
Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.10.0 until 0.57.0, the file sink renders its templated path from event fields and opens the result without confining it to an intended directory. When an untrusted source supplies an event field used by the path template, the value can contain an absolute path or parent-directory traversal, causing Vector to create parent directories and create or overwrite files outside the intended location with the Vector process privileges. The resulting file write can modify sensitive files and can lead to code execution when a scheduled task, authorization file, or subsequently executed script is targeted. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.
Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Azure Logic Apps allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
A malicious or compromised Flatpak repository can write attacker-controlled content to arbitrary locations on the host filesystem via extract_extra_data(). On system installs, the write happens as root. Two issues combine: `files/extra` is resolved via path operations that follow symlinks, and blob names from `xa.extra-data-sources` are not sanitized against `..` traversal.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable to path traversal in the Universal Connector Oracle Wallet upload component. An authenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to write arbitrary files to the system.
Adobe Connect is affected by an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary file system read. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to access sensitive files and directories outside the intended access scope. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction. Scope is changed.
| A vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to perform path traversal attacks on the underlying operating system to either read or delete arbitrary files. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have valid administrative credentials.
This vulnerability is due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to access sensitive files or delete arbitrary files on the affected system. |
