CVE-2026-97510 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-28 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Release request if tb_cfg_request() fails in __tb_xdomain_response() If tb_cfg_request() fails setting up the request (for example the control channel is shut down already) it returns an error without calling the callback. To avoid leaking that memory, call tb_cfg_request_put() if tb_cfg_request() fails.
CVE-2026-98160 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix mismatched free of HalData in rtw_sdio_if1_init() padapter->HalData is allocated via vzalloc(), but incorrectly freed using kfree() in the rtw_sdio_if1_init() error path. Using kfree() to release this vmalloc-backed buffer can lead to memory corruption. Use rtw_hal_data_deinit() to pair the free correctly and free HalData with vfree(). The bug was first flagged by an experimental static analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs. Manual inspection confirms that the issue is still present in current mainline. An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have suitable RTL8723BS SDIO hardware to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.
CVE-2026-98162 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb/server: fix tree connection leak in smb2_tree_connect() See the procedure below: smb2_tree_connect ksmbd_tree_conn_connect xa_store(&sess->tree_conns, tree_conn->id, tree_conn) ksmbd_counter_inc(KSMBD_COUNTER_TREE_CONNS) ksmbd_share_tree_conn_inc(sc) ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp // fail status.ret = KSMBD_TREE_CONN_STATUS_NOMEM // do not disconnect tree_conn Disconnect the new tree connection if ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp() fails.
CVE-2026-98055 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: Intel: avs: Clean up the bus when fetching ML caps fails snd_hdac_ext_bus_get_ml_capabilities() may fail and its return code shall be checked and accounted for. Address the issue by updating the error-path for avs_pci_probe(). At the same time, if the function in question succeeds but the next part of avs_pci_probe() fails, the hlink list shall be cleaned up before leaving the scope.
CVE-2026-98003 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Do not reallocate GA log buffers on resume Commit c5e1a1eb9279 ("iommu/amd: Simplify and Consolidate Virtual APIC (AVIC) Enablement") moved the GA log allocation from iommu_init_pci() to enable_iommus_vapic(), which is called on every resume. iommu_init_ga_log() assigns iommu->ga_log and iommu->ga_log_tail unconditionally. Each resume therefore replaces the boot-time pointers and leaks both old allocations. The function also uses GFP_KERNEL from a syscore resume callback, where interrupts are disabled and the non-boot CPUs are offline. Return early if both buffers are already allocated. Clear the pointers in free_ga_log() so a partial allocation failure cannot leave ga_log dangling.
CVE-2026-93208 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kasan: fix cache shrink race with CPU hotplug kasan_quarantine_remove_cache() first invokes per_cpu_remove_cache() on all online CPUs. Each callback moves objects belonging to the cache from cpu_quarantine to the CPU's shrink_qlist, where they can later be freed from task context. kmem_cache_destroy() invokes the quarantine removal path while holding cpus_read_lock(), but kmem_cache_shrink() does not. The latter can therefore race with CPU offlining as follows: kmem_cache_shrink() CPU hotplug ------------------- ----------- on_each_cpu() CPU1 moves objects to CPU1's shrink_qlist on_each_cpu() returns CPU1 goes offline kasan_cpu_offline() drains cpu_quarantine leaves shrink_qlist untouched for_each_online_cpu() skips CPU1 The objects left on CPU1's shrink_qlist are not returned to the slab allocator. This may prevent kmem_cache_shrink() from releasing slabs that would otherwise become empty. If CPU1 remains offline, a later kmem_cache_destroy() also skips the list and can report that the cache still contains objects. An intermittent occurrence was observed with a virtio-9p filesystem. The mount and umount commands both returned 0, but the kernel logged the following during the userspace-triggered teardown: [ 2994.380134][ T111] BUG 9p-fcall-cache-1 (Tainted: G B ): Objects remaining on __kmem_cache_shutdown() [ 2994.381140][ T111] Object 0xff11000004361118 @offset=4376 [ 2994.381607][ T111] Allocated in p9_fcall_init+0x201/0x400 age=19564 cpu=1 pid=104 [ 2994.382591][ T111] p9_fcall_init+0x201/0x400 [ 2994.382810][ T111] p9_tag_alloc+0x12f/0x700 [ 2994.382982][ T111] p9_client_prepare_req+0x102/0x3e0 [ 2994.383165][ T111] p9_client_rpc+0x1ab/0xa50 [ 2994.383334][ T111] p9_client_getattr_dotl+0xb0/0x1a0 [ 2994.383515][ T111] v9fs_vfs_getattr_dotl+0x115/0x360 [ 2994.383719][ T111] vfs_getattr_nosec+0x22c/0x3a0 [ 2994.383910][ T111] vfs_statx+0xd7/0x170 [ 2994.384062][ T111] vfs_fstatat+0x45/0x80 [ 2994.384215][ T111] __do_sys_newfstatat+0x84/0xe0 [ 2994.384386][ T111] do_syscall_64+0x115/0x6a0 [ 2994.384566][ T111] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f [ 2994.399720][ T111] WARNING: mm/slub.c:1244 at __kmem_cache_shutdown+0x363/0x500, CPU#0: busybox/111 [ 2994.405655][ T111] Call Trace: [ 2994.406325][ T111] kmem_cache_destroy+0x73/0x1b0 [ 2994.406630][ T111] p9_client_destroy+0x271/0x3c0 [ 2994.407210][ T111] v9fs_session_close+0x3c/0x260 [ 2994.407409][ T111] v9fs_kill_super+0x48/0x90 [ 2994.407584][ T111] deactivate_locked_super+0xa3/0x160 [ 2994.407778][ T111] cleanup_mnt+0x1dd/0x3e0 Thus, a successful umount left objects in the 9p fcall cache and prevented the cache from being destroyed cleanly. Per-CPU shrink_qlist storage exists for every possible CPU, and each list is protected by its own raw spinlock. Iterate over possible CPUs so that a list populated before its CPU went offline is drained as well. for_each_possible_cpu() can do more work than for_each_online_cpu(), but this change only affects CONFIG_KASAN_GENERIC kernels. The extra work is limited to cache shrink and cache destruction paths and does not affect the normal allocation/free fast path. It adds one raw-spinlock-protected scan of each possible CPU's shrink list. These lists are normally empty; a non-empty list is traversed to remove objects belonging to the cache being shrunk or destroyed.
CVE-2026-97544 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: don't leak dqacct if rhashtable insertion fails LOLLM observes that xqcheck_mod_live_ino_dqtrx doesn't free the newly allocated dqa object if rhashtable insertion fails. Fix this leak.
CVE-2026-97543 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: destroy seen inode bitmap when we fail to add a dirpath LOLLM observes a memory leak in xchk_dirtree_create_path if we create the directory path object but appending the name to the path fails. When this happens, we don't tear down the (empty) seen inode bitmap. This is a pretty trivial error, but let's not leave logic bombs. Do the same for a similar bug in xrep_dirtree_create_adoption_path.
CVE-2026-97569 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bnxt_en: Prevent queue stop with deferred completions When the driver receives a burst of packets, it can mark a BD with the NO_CMPL bit to defer completions. The expectation is that the last packet in the ring will have this bit unset and the completion generated by that packet will cleanup that packet and the ones preceding it. This helps to reduce the number of completions fired. The suppressed completions are controlled by the driver and the number of packets with suppressed completions scales with the size of the ring. SW USO packets, on the other hand, have an upper bound on the maximum number of BDs which can be consumed which does not scale with the ring size. So, for small rings it is possible that: a burst of packets is handed to the driver, the driver defers completions for all of the packets because the number of free descriptors stays above the threshold in the driver. Then, a USO packet arrives, but the number of BDs available is not enough and the USO code exits early. In this case, you end up in a state where the ring is full of packets with their completions suppressed, which can cause the queue to stop and never be restarted. Assuming default CONFIG_MAX_SKB_FRAGS, this is only possible for small rings (<= 457 descriptors, below the driver default value) when a burst of packets fills the ring, followed by a large USO packet that can't fit. For larger rings, the delta between the completion suppression threshold and the BDs required for SW USO is large enough that completions will fire and this case is unreachable. This issue was pointed out by Sashiko and while it seems fairly unlikely given that the queue size must be small to trigger this, it is indeed possible. Fix this by tracking the last BD which deferred completions and centralizing the logic for deciding when to ring the doorbell. The NO_CMPL bit is now cleared in bnxt_txr_db_kick(), so every doorbell site is covered, including the SW USO early exit. This guarantees the ring always ends in a BD which generates a completion to clean it and wake the queue.
CVE-2026-97586 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Fix missing kunmap in afs_dir_search_bucket() Fix afs_dir_search_bucket() to kunmap the block it's using in the "bad:" path.
CVE-2026-97545 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: don't leak new_bp if xfs_btree_bload_drop_buf fails LOLLM observes that in xfs_btree_bload_prep_block, xfs_btree_bload_drop_buf can hit an IO error if writing the delwri buffer list to disk fails. In this case, we fail to release new_bp, which means we lose a locked buffer. Fix that.
CVE-2026-100076 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths issue_beacon(), issue_probersp() and issue_asocrsp() obtain a management xmit_frame together with its xmit_buf from the driver's fixed-size management-TX pools via alloc_mgtxmitframe(). On the normal path the frame is handed to dump_mgntframe(), which transfers ownership and eventually returns both objects to their pools (the frame and, for beacons, the buf in rtl8723bs_mgnt_xmit(); other bufs via the pending-xmitbuf/TX-completion path). Several error/edge paths return early after a successful alloc_mgtxmitframe() but before dump_mgntframe(), so ownership is never transferred and neither object is freed: - issue_beacon(): beacon larger than 512 bytes - issue_probersp(): cur_network->ie_length > MAX_IE_SZ - issue_probersp(): kzalloc() of the SSID scratch buffer fails - issue_asocrsp(): pkt_type is neither ASSOCRSP nor REASSOCRSP Because alloc_mgtxmitframe() removes the frame and buf from their free lists (list_del_init) without placing them on any pending list, an orphaned pair is on no list and referenced by nobody, so it is only reclaimed at driver teardown. Repeated hits progressively exhaust the management-TX pools until alloc_mgtxmitframe() returns NULL and the interface can no longer send beacons or probe/assoc responses. Free the frame and buffer on these paths, matching the existing correct error handling in issue_assocreq().
CVE-2026-98140 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fix kmap_local leak in write_mft_record_nolock() error paths write_mft_record_nolock() maps the MFT record folio with kmap_local_folio(), but the pre_write_mst_fixup() and bio_add_folio() failure paths jump to the error label without unmapping it. kmap_local mappings are stack-ordered per task, so leaking one corrupts the nesting for any outer mapping. Unmap the folio on those error paths too.
CVE-2026-98152 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-rdma: fix queue leak when connect backlog is exceeded When pending disconnecting queues exceed the backlog limit, the connect path only drops the device reference and leaks the newly allocated queue and its IB resources.
CVE-2026-98131 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: fix dma mapping leak in stmmac_tso_xmit() In stmmac_tso_xmit(), if the DMA mapping of an skb fragment fails, the frame is dropped but the DMA mappings already created for the linear part and for the fragments mapped before the failure are never unmapped, leaking DMA mappings. Fix the leak by walking back over the descriptors used by the frame and releasing each of them with stmmac_free_tx_buffer(). Moreover, release the descriptors with stmmac_release_tx_desc() unmapping the DMA buffers.
CVE-2026-93812 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix sd_ndr.data memory leak in ksmbd_vfs_set_sd_xattr ndr_encode_v4_ntacl() allocates sd_ndr.data via kzalloc() at entry. If any subsequent ndr_write_*() call returns error during encoding, the allocated sd_ndr.data won't be freed and causes memory leak. Move kfree(sd_ndr.data) into out label to ensure the buffer gets released on all success and error return paths.
CVE-2026-93811 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: Fix acl.sd_buf memory leak and invalid sd_size error handling 1. When ndr_decode_v4_ntacl() fails, the code jumped to free_n_data which only freed n.data, skipping kfree(acl.sd_buf) and leaking the buffer. Zero-initialize struct xattr_ntacl acl, reorder error labels to out_free to release acl.sd_buf on all error paths. 2. if (acl.sd_size < sizeof(struct smb_ntsd)) is true, original code returned success without freeing sd_buf and left stale *pntsd. Set rc = -EINVAL before jumping to out_free to return error code and free buffer.
